Description: A benzodiazepine class of drug. Reduces neuronal excitability through influx of a great quantity of chloride ion by potentiating the efficacy of GABA. Indications: Anxiety, Depression, Panic attack, Insomnia etc. Dosage & Administration: The usual dose is 0.25-0.5 mg three times daily. Extended release tablet: 1-3 mg once daily. Use in pregnancy & lactation: US FDA Pregnancy category D.
